DAC8832EVM: Software download problem with DXP

Part Number: DAC8832EVM

I have the DAC8832 EVM. When I start DXP it asks me to open up the software download utility, but when I try to download any of them it gives an error. I found another post that gave the file and said to place it in the "Devices" folder, but when I go to my DXP folder there is no Devices folder inside.

Hi Kevin,

You can look at the following query:

e2e.ti.com/.../2179805

You will need to install the dxp-supportpackage from the FTP site. It will download the files automatically.

Thanks for the response! That seemed to have done the trick for that part, but now I get

Error - 1073807343
VISA Find Resource in DXP_Main.VI
State - Load Firmware Load

and then when I hit okay DXP closes.

That certainly points to a driver-level issue which, as I'm sure you can imagine, get's quite complex to debug and may have some dependencies on your operating system / hardware platform. We did develop some extra DXP supporting packages to help debug / support these kind of issues, but as with all drivers there is no 100% solution so this may or may not rectify your issues.

Managed to solve the second issue. I had a similar problem with another EVM I'm working with and the fix was the same. It was a USB driver issue; Windows 10 doesn't like unsigned drivers. I followed the steps on this post to get the driver installed:

e2e.ti.com/.../594593

And now it's working!
