I am using the DAC161S055 as a 0 to 5VDC source. I would like to increase the current drive to at least 3A with good 1:1 voltage following.

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your query. I think you can use OPA544 or OPA548 for the power amplification.

Hi Michael,

In order to get accurate output at 0V, you need to use a dual power supply for the opamp.

However, DAC will have zero code and offset errors and the opamp will have offset error. You need to correct these errors in order to get accurate output.

Our DAC is working pretty well and we don't need it too be accurate right down to zero. It's for simulating battery cells. Is there a reference design or application note for the OP amp error correction? Is there a way to compensate with sense lines like a power supply would use?
