ADS1278EVM-PDK: SPI interface of ads1278

Part Number: ADS1278EVM-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1278

I have been working on ads1278evm-pdk from the past month. I have been using the default ADSPro software and mmb0 board which came with the adc. But, now i want to use the ads1278 without the mmb0 and connect it to other microprocessor through SPI. I am trying to do the hardware connections but could not figure out how to power the ads1278.

I want to know which pins are to used in the SPI interface for powering the adc and how much power is to be given.

  • Hi Sourav,

The ADS1278 can be powered through the J5 port. Please refer to the ADS1x7xEVM User's Guide (Rev. A) on page 18 to find the schematic below. J5 in the ADS1278 is used for power supply while J4 is reserved for SPI connections.

For the amount of power provided, it can also be seen in the User Guide in Table 3. These are the nominal values but you can modify them as long as they are within the range specified within the data sheet.

    Regards,

    Carolina
