ADS131E08: What is NOP for DIN?

Does anyone know what the value/format is for the NOP command mentioned in the document: SBAS561C, page 34, 9.5.2.3 Data Input (DIN)?

"When no command is to be sent to the device when reading out data, send the NOP command on DIN."

I can find no other reference for NOP in the documentation. Is it 0x00 or 0xff...or??

Hi Steven -

The NOP (no operation) command would be 0x00. In an SPI interface, the master must generate the clock and the only way that will happen is if 'something' is loaded into it's transmit buffer. To read data from the ADS131E08, while not updating any registers or sending any specific command, you would need to supply SCLK by writing 0x00 to your MCU's transmit buffer.

I'm sorry for the confusion but happy to hear that '0x00' works for you. We'll define "NOP" (perhaps in Table 9) or re-word the sentence in the next revision of the datasheet to clarify things a bit. Please do let us know if you have any further issues/concerns with the ADS131E08.
