Starterware/ADS1299EEGFE-PDK: ADS1299 with an error code 6004

Part Number: ADS1299EEGFE-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1299

Tool/software: Starterware

hi~

I have a problem with the ADS1299EEG-FE.

When I connect it to the evaluation software it takes an incredibly long time to read the registers (20+ minutes) and when I get in, I see the  progress is 100%.

And I press the "acquire" bottom. After a while it appear a window.

I don't know what wrong with it.

The jumpers on both boards that I set as with the User's guide on page 6 ,I think it shouldn't be a jumper issue.( or maybe I see the wrong page??

Is there something I should try, or is the board busted?

Or,should I buy a new one to text this problem ?

Please, help me. My English isn't good.So if anyone don't understand what I mean. Please let me know.

Thanks a lots.

  • Hi Tseng,

Thanks for your interest in our ADS1299!

This error code has occurred in the past for a variety of reasons. In addition to checking the default jumper settings on the ADS1299EEG-FE board, please also verify that you have connected the proper 6VDC supply to the MMB0 and installed J12. You can verify that all power supplies are properly generated for the ADS1299 by probing the respective test points for AVDD, AVSS, and DVDD.

If the power supplies appear correct, can you check on an oscilloscope if /DRDY is pulsing at the default data rate?

    Best Regards,

  • hi  Ryan~

I have the same problem.Appear the same window.

With your opinion I recheck the default jumper settings on my ADS1299EEG-FE board and is correct. (on User's guide page 6.7)

And I connected the proper 6VDC supply to the MMB0 and installed J12,too.

I check all power supply text point is all correct. (on User's guide page 14.15)

I haven't text the /DRDY on oscilloscope. How could I know whether the /DRDY is right or not?

I will wait for your reply.Very appreciate!!

  • Hello Yuti,

If the START pin is high, /DRDY will appear as a periodic pulse waveform after tSETTLE. The signal will idle low, but you should see a quick rising/falling edge. The time between falling edges of sequential pulses will match the default data rate period.

    Best Regards,

  • hi Ryan,
    Thanks for your help~
    My board finally work!!
The most big mistake is that I get the pin number in the wrong way. (For the JP2 and JP20 on the board
I forgot the JP2 and JP20's direction was different from others.
    So embarrassed....
But thanks god ,it work now.
