PGA411Q1EVM: Defective chip and a replacement needed

Part Number: PGA411Q1EVM

PGA41x-Q1 is not available.

Hi. I purchased two PGA411Q1EVM through Mouser about 8th of Sep.

When I tested both of them one was working fine, but the other was not working.

I found that the PGA41x-Q1 software was not able to detect the chip and the PGA411-Q1 chip on the evaluation board keeps heating up. It's hard to touch with bare hands

Also I've followed all the instructions on your user's manual but there's still the same error.

I think the chip is broken down.

In order to refund or get a replacement, I contacted Mouser but they said that they need something in writing from TI support team.

Would you help me to prove the chip is defective and to get a replacement item from Mouser?

Thanks.

  • I am sorry to hear that there was a problem with one of the EVMs! Have you tried the following?

    - double checked all jumper settings on the board
    - inspected the PGA411-Q1 IC for two pins that might be shorted together
    - Do you have the capability of replacing the IC? If so, you should be able to order free samples through ti.com, and you could try replacing the IC.

I will contact you separately as well so that we can start working on getting a replacement to you.

    Thanks,
