WEBENCH® Tools/PGA400Q1EVM: PGA400

Part Number: PGA400Q1EVM

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello everyone,

I am trying to set and measure CAP1 and CAP2 using the GUI, however no luck. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Please keep in mind I have a fundamental understanding of this circuitry, purely mechanical background.

I believe it would be through the TEST MUX but I am unsure what to select for TIP_A , TIN_A, TOP_A, and TON_A. I know I can excite inputs into VIN1 etc. through the DAC buffer and have selected those but to no avail.

Thank you!

  • Hello,

Can you please provide a simple schematic to show how you have connected your sensors to the EVM, as well as the settings you have set on the GUI so far?

If the sensors are connected properly to the GUI, activating the capacitive sensing AFE and reading the resulting ADC conversion values from the GUI is relatively simple. In the AFE/OFFSET tab, there is a sub-tab for Capacitive sensing where all of the controls are located. Shown here:

After you click the Activate Capacitive AFE button, and have configured the settings to match your sensor, you can manually update the ADC conversion using the "ADC Update" button, or have a continuous stream of updated values by clicking the "ADC Continuous" button.

    Regards,
