Hi,

I'm actually working with the TVP5150EVM with the ADV7194 encoder EVB.

I got problem to output the CVBS input to CVBS output. It seems that my registers's initialisation is not complete or some parameters are missing.

Is anyone have a complete initialisation file that i can use with the specific registers's values?

MY Setup : DVD Video player with test pattern DVD + composite + TVP5150EVM + Encoder ADV7194 EVM + Screen with composite input

Regards,

Steve

    TVP5150AM1_ROM_I2C_SETTING.TXT

    Hi Steve,

Are you using TVP5150AM1?  You can tell from ROM version.  If it is 4.0 then it is TVP5150AM1.  Attached is I2C registers default setting for TVP5150AM1 ROM, can you check to see if they are the same?  If you have the EVM, do you have VCC application to start up the EVM?  If you don't, you can download from TVP5150AM1 product page in ti.com.

    Regards,

    Viet

    Hi,

    no, i have the TVP5150EVM REV1.2 board. I'M also using the WinVcc4 v4.41 software.

I have a NTSC input analog feed test pattern and want to decode to the Y and serialise it withto SDI format.

To serialise the video feed, i used another EVB.

it seems that the decoder do not output properly the data.

Do you suggest me another EVB ?

    regards

    Steve

    Steve,

Does your TVP5150AM1 EVM work properly when used with the analog video encoder included with the EVM?  This will tell us if the issue is related to the TVP5150AM1 EVM or the SDI interface.  The EVM software should include a CMD file with datasets for programming the TVP5150AM1.   Following power-up/reset, the input MUX must be properly configured and the digital outputs must be activated.

    Regards,

    Larry

    Hi Larry,

thanks for your quick answer. Yes the TVP5150 work with the Encoder. The problem is when i try to used the Y0 to Y8 and the Parallel clock  and use an external serialiser, it doen't work. I test the serialiser individually and it work.

    Steve,

Can you send the serializer part number?

Does it support a BT656 interface with embedded syncs?

Can you determine if the serializer's clock is locked to the TVP5150AM1 SCLK output?

    Regards,

    Larry

    Hi,

i don not have acces to the internal register, so cannot say if locked of the PCLK is present.

It support the ITU 656 with embeddd sync.

I tested the serialiser with anoter Decoder with ITU 656 embedded sync and it<s work.

The only difference is your decoder is 8 bit and the seriliaser is 10 bit. I confirm with the serialiser company how to connect 8 bit // in a 10 bit // serialiser.

ThiThe input is a a SMTPE signal.

    let me know

    Steve,

This may be due to the serializer's PLL not being able to lock to the TVP ouput clock.  Make sure a good clock connection with gnd return is used.  We often used twisted pairs for this type of connection.

    Regards,

    Larry
