Hi,

Section 3.8.3.2 in the TVP5158 manual says that 4-ch D1 is supported. However, in 3.8.3.3 8-ch support is provided but the example given is CIF resolution with no mention of D1. Does this mean that 8-ch D1 is not supported in cascade mode? If so then I will have to use two chips separately in 4-ch mode (feeding a FPGA). Is this correct?

    Hello Michael,

The TVP5158 can support 4 CH D1.  For 8 CH, it can support CIF or half D1 mode but not D1 mode in cascade mode.  If you want 8 D1 with 2 TVP5158, you have to use the dual port mode.   The dual port mode for 8 CH D1 is under development.

    Regards,

    Viet
