Hi Larry,
I'm trying to output video format DMT1660@60Hz with no success.
I'm using the register parameters from the 'THS8200 RGB Graphics Settings Spreadsheet' but still I can't see any picture and I can't see syncs on the Y/G output.
on the spreadsheet I set the FID/DE to '1'.
Its written in the spreadsheet that 'Setup for 30-bit RGB 4:4:4 with discrete syncs' - what is the meaning of discrete syncs?
Why the spreadsheet doesn't contain parameters for registers 0x25-0x2B?
Regards
Roni
Discrete sync operation means that the THS8200 will be using the discrete HSYNC and VSYNC input and not syncs that are embedded in the digital data. Discrete sync operation also optionally includes the use of a DE input.
Register 0x25-0x2B are typically used for video formats where sync insertion is needed and when you need the THS8200 to control the horizontal blanking interval. In your case, DE is being used to force blanking during the horizontal interval.
