TVP5150 PAL problem

Hi,

I think there are several thing you need to check,

1. change PAL camera and try

2. Does the video compressor chip 's configuration is correct(changed to PAL capture mode maybe)

3. check the register value of TVP5150 , if the status is ok.  

3.21.49 Status Register #1 -- Vertical sync lock status    Horizontal sync lock status

3.21.53 Status Register #5

Hi,

1-My camera is PAL and Work well

2-video compressor chip 's configuration set to PAL

3-Status Register #1 = 0x7E

4-Status Register #5 = 0x83

Are you able to measure signal that comes from TVP5150AM1, that is D0~D7 and Pixel clk. If there is no signal, please check 3.21.64 Interrupt Configuration Register A- YCbCr enable first. 

If the signal is present, I suspect there might be transfer protocol un-match between the TVP5150AM1 and compressor chip.  There should be debug method on compressor's side it indicates if syncs and detected.

OK ,i check D0-D7 data .data is good but in D5 and D7 a signal 13.5MHz added with signal data.

compressor chip is well in NTSC .

Hi it is strange there is 13.5MHz added. How does the waveform look like ?

You can also set 3.21.1 Video Input Source Selection #1 Register [3]  Black output

TVP5150AM1 will be forced to output black only.  Check if the 13.5MHz go away...

Does your video compressor chip captured the blackscreen when black out is enabled?

If so, then I doubt there is something wrong w/ the video source...
