TVP5158 patch for interlaced video

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP5158

    Hello,

We are still facing technical difficulties with video quality on a Centaurus µP. The problem is that odd fields are lost while capturing. This issue was described in the following post :

    e2e.ti.com/.../384591

Further investigations led to the fact that a patch can be applied to the video decoder that we are using on our board : TVP5158. In the HDVPSS_01_00_01_33 package that we are currently using, we can see that there is a function call to Vps_tvp5158PatchDownload( )
in the TV5158 reset function. This mechanism seemingly uses a binary code described in file vpsdrv_tvp5158Patch_v2_03_02.h to load the corresponding binary array in the RAM code section of the TVP5158 and to use the latter as an alternative firmware to the embedded ROM code.

My questions are the following :

    1. With regards to the above-mentionned version of the patch, is it possible to know if there is a firmware limitation to use TVP5158 with interlaced video ?
    2. Is TVP5158 patch v2.03.02 the last one provided by TI ? ... If not, how is it possible to get a newer version (ideally one with a relevant patch for this issue) ?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help and the forthcoming reply. Best regards.
