TVP5150: Search for the Video Decoder New Solution

Hi,

I would like to find the right solution for vehicle back camera.

Customer have used TVP5150 as their video decoder in previous related designs, however, I found TVP5150 is NRND and the EVM is EOL.

Based on TVP5150, customer key requests are as following,

  • Input interface: CVBS
  • Output interface: CCIR656
  • ADC Resolution: 8bit(optional)
  • Output Resolution: 720p60

Could you please kindly help to recommend the suitable solution for customer? Thank you so much.

    NRND status does not mean that the devices are being made obsolete, it simply means that there are very limited design support resources available.

    If your customer has used the TVP family of devices previously and is comfortable designing with them then they can continue using them in current and new designs. New design in support is extremely limited though.

    There are currently no plans to make the device obsolete.

    Thank you for your prompt reply.

    1. Originally, I tried to apply TMP5150AM1 EVM for customer to do the evaluation, but found the EVM is EOL.
    2. I will check with customer if they have testing board, so that we could only supply TMP5150AM1 device sample for them to do the test.
    3. If customer does not have their own testing board, we would need to propose another solution for them.
    The key requests are as following,
    #Input interface: CVBS
    #Output interface: CCIR656
    #ADC Resolution: 8bit(optional)
    #Output Resolution: 720p60

    We don't have ANY devices that can take in CVBS and output 720p60. This requires a scaler and a de-interlacer. Some of our processor devices support this, but we don't have a stand alone device.

    All our decoders are PAL/NTSC resolution (i.e. 720x480/576i). The TVP5160 can also support ED (720x480/576p). The output resolution is the same is the analog source and there is no up-scaling or de-interlacing. (SOme devices have down scaling, but none have up-scaling)

    Unfortunately we don't have any additional EVM solutions.
