THS8200: whether we will stop selling the products THS8200 in the next 4~5years?

Part Number: THS8200

HI team,

My customer wants to use the device THS8200 in their project, but the website status is NRND. So the customer has the concern about whether we will stop mass production in the next 5 years. So they want to double check with us. if we don't stop selling the products in the next 4~5years, they will use the device.

Could you please help double  it?

Thanks.

  • Currently there are no plans to make the device obsolete.
Typically NRND means that design resources are no longer available, so help with new design issues is extremely limited.
NRND does not mean there are plans to stop production.
TI typically gives fairly large notice of moving devices from NRND to obsolete status, then maintains stock in the channel for a significant amount of time once moved to obsolete status.
I can't say exactly how long each of these periods is exactly since it depends on the situations at the time, but is usually a couple of years+ as a minimum.
Note, this does not mean that distributors will have stock since they are independent and will make their own decisions regarding maintaining stock/offering the device for sale.

Bottom line is that there are currently no plans to stop production of the device.

    BR,
    Steve
