TVP5158: The impedance of VDD_1_1(pin32) and VSS(pin1) in TVP5158

Part Number: TVP5158

Dear,

My Applicaiton is ADAS. And I will use TVP5158 to Video Decoder. My project has MP.

Before SMT, I always will test the  impedance of VDD_1_1(pin32) and  VSS(pin1). The normal value is around 300 Ohm.

But I found 3 pcs their mpedance of VDD_1_1(pin32) and  VSS(pin1) is about 80 Ohm. So it will increase the power.

So my question is how about value the  mpedance of VDD_1_1(pin32) and  VSS(pin1)? Is there any manual to introduce? Thx

  • Measuring the impedance of the power supply pins is not a valid way to determine the active power requirements. (If you do the math on 1.1V into 300 ohm you would calculate a power of about 4mW, which is more than 100x lower than the 600mW specified in the datasheet)

All you are measuring with this method is (possibly) the static leakage. This does not consider dynamic power requirements

Additionally, applying a power supply to only one of the power pins will cause unpredictable power paths and potentially damage the device.

All power supplies and ground connections should be applied in close succession to each other to avoid incorrect current flow through the device and its ESD protection circuits. The datasheet states "There are no power sequencing requirements except that all power supplies should become active and stable within 500 ms of each other"

Section 5.5 in the datasheet documents the nominal power dissipation numbers for various use cases.

    Steve
