    Hi.

I will be picking up another company's CCS project work and I'm trying to sort things out beforehand.

I have a XDS100V2 JTAG tool and selected the free "bundle" option when installing CCS5.  I'm worried that this option might not have everything I need to carry on the project but I can't find any detail of the CCS feature differences between a full and free-bundle version.

Is there a simple feature matrix for this?  The wikis have me going around in circles!

    Regards,

    Col.

      Hi Colin,

This is good wiki topic that explains the license types.  Basically if you are using an XDS100 you can use CCS with no limitations.  The limitation of the bundle license or what we call a free limited license is simply what hardware is connected.

I hope this helps clarify and verify.

      Best Regards,
      Lisa

I had it in my head that I would be losing out somewhere to a fully paid version.

      Thanks!

      Col.

Is that means, that I can use this absolutely free CCS5 Bundle license (with xds100) for my own commercial project (not your evaluation board)?

      Best regards

      Marek

      Hi Marek,

yes that is true, you can use this license with an XDS100 for your own board/production.  Have a look at this wiki.

OK, thank you very much for quick answer. I have the the last question - about TMS320C6671. Can I use CCS 5 for this processor in my commercial project for free? I'm not sure that XDS100 will be correct for this processor.

      Best regards

      Marek

      Hi Marek,

the C6671 should be suported with the XDS100.  It may be slow or not have all the features the other emulators have but is supported.

      Best Regards,
      Lisa
