Is CCS Linux version needed? And questions

Hi,

I would like to ask a question on Linux development.

In order to develop Linux on OMAP L138, do I have to install CCS under Linux (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS)?

If I am running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS version on a virtual machine (Oracle's Virtual Box), then there comes two questions:

1. Does the emulator (mine is from SEED, a Beijing-based company) driver work under Linux?

2. Does my current CCS License work under Linux? I assume the license validates the MAC address of my computer's network adaptor, but since on Virtual machine everything is virtualized, does the MAC address still exisit or visible to the virtualized Linux?

As answered in the following post, no.

You will need to ask SEED about Linux support.

I don't have information about this.

I believe they do support Linux. Please contact SEED directly for more information.

The license tied to the MAC address. I believe the VM is assigned a virtual MAC address so it may not work. Maybe there is a way to have it share the host mac address but I'mnot sure. I'm not a VM expert by any means.

    Thanks

    Ki-Soo,

Thanks for the answer. I will see SEED has the driver.
