I'm using CCSv5.1 on Ubuntu10.04 (Virtual machine using virtualbox) and now I failed to launch the debugger via XDS510USB.When I tried to reset emulator by following steps, then I saw an error.
ubuntu@ubuntu-laptop:/opt/ti/ccsv5/ccs_base/emulation/drivers$ ./sdjtag -X portsavailable** Checking for available USB devices on valid ports. $$ XDS510USB connected on: $$ EmuPortAddr=0x510 $$ EmuSerialNumber=S411135172120422
ubuntu@ubuntu-laptop:/opt/ti/ccsv5/ccs_base/emulation/drivers$ ./sdjtag -p 0x510 -X scantest** Emulator Scan Test IR ScanError IRLength0=1,IRLength1=144
When I did "lsusb" on the console, I could not find any emulator....
Could anybody please suggest me what is wrong ?
This question was asked a few times already on the forums. Please check the thread below:
Thanks for the reply.
I had already read the thread, but that was for VMware, not for Virtualbox. And I could not find solutions for my problem...
Although I don't have Virtualbox, I assume the issues reported in the thread are equally applicable, as the principle is the same (emulator is being blocked due to the virtualization of hardware)
The solution to this issue would be to use a native Linux box instead of a Virtual machine. Sorry.
