My Target Configurations, e.g. XDS100v2_evm6748.ccxml, are looking for a specific GEL file in a specific directory. I was to specify a different GEL file in a different directory. But I cannot find how to change this variable.
How do I specify the GEL file name and where it is located?
if you open the ccxml file. Have you had a look at the advanced tab? There are 3 tabs found at the bottom. Basic, advanced and source. Please keep us informed if this is what you needed to find. It should be as this is where you add the initialization gel.
Sorry. I did not realize I was supposed to doulbe-click on ccxml file. I tried right-click Properties.
I see it now. Thank you.
no problem, glad you found it.
All the best with development.
except...CCSv5 appears to have the same problem as CCSv4. No matter what string I type in it converts it to some sort of strange relative path. In CCSv4 it was relative to the user account directory. Here it appears to be relative to something else I cannot figure.
Browse... does not work. Regardless of where I go it does not change the previous string. If I type in a path it converst to some relative path. But relative to what?
Suppose I put myC6748.gel in a directory called E:\NanoScan2\Firmware\GELFiles. How do I configure a Target Configuration to go to that directory?
wait! I think it is relative to the workspace? Is that true?
hmm I don't seem to get the same behaviour. Can you send screenshots? For me the browse button seems to work .... I don't type anything.
Kurt Jensenwait! I think it is relative to the workspace? Is that true?
I think it is relative to: .\ccsv5\ccs_base\common\targetdb

>I think it is relative to: .\ccsv5\ccs_base\common\targetdb
I do not know how that is possible. There are is no file called c6748.gel un the c:\ti\ccsv5 directory. When I click Browse... it goes back top the directory relative to my workspace.
>Can you send screenshots?
A screenshot cannot show behavior. I simply click Browse... After I click OK the string in CCSv5 is unchanged regardless of what file I select.
ok, we just realised that for the specific device you used there was a bug in ccxml files generated in CCSv4. Basically for your device, you are correct the path could not be changed.
Please try creating a fresh one from v5 and you should find things work. Please keep us posted.
Working purely in v5 is why I could not reproduce the issue.
