I ran DSK Diagnostics Utility but it doesn't recognize the USB. It gives the following error.

    Can't connect to target.

*** Plug in power and USB cable.
*** Can't run if Code Composer or Diagnostic already running.

    Result> USB diagnostic fail
    Stopping diagnostic suite
I closed CCS before running that and checked the drivers too.Drivers are installed properly.
The LED which says USB in use is on along with other 5 LEDs.
Can anyone please help me to find what is the problem.
    Thanks,
    Shash

      Hi Shash,

It could be that there is some process of CCS still running, even when you think it has shut down. This is especially true with CCSv3 and earlier. Try closing the CCS processes in task manager or simply reboot your PC and try again.

      Thanks

      ki

      Hi Ki,

I tried that and it still gives me the same problem..

At the moment I have CCS v5.2 installed in my laptop. But I got CCS v3.1 with my DSK board. I couldn't use that one with my new laptop as it is windows 7. But I'm still using the same C6713 drivers which came along with my board. Will that be the problem?

It used to work fine with windows XP earlier when i was using CCS v3.1. Any suggestions to use CCS v5.2 and communicate with the board using the same drivers?

      Thanks

      Shash

Yes. Using drivers for v3 with your v5 install will not work.

CCSv5 supports the on-board USB of the 6713DSK. You do not need any extra drivers. Select "Spectrum Digital DSK-EVM-eZdsp onboard USB Emulator" as your connection type and "DSK6713" as your device.

      Hi Ki,

That I've already done. When I create a new project and debug, console window shows ' TMS320C671X: GEL Output: GEL StartUp Complete'.

But as the board not showing the BUSY LED, and when I uninstall the DSK old version drivers is there any way to check the USB connection otherthan device manager.Because now also in the device manager it shows my USB connection is proper.

Only when I try with the desktop icon 6713DSK diagnostic which is being installed with the old version it doesn't recognize USB.

Is that unnecessary to check that with the C6713 DSK diagnostic utility?

      Thanks,

      Shash

I am having a similar problem on Windows 7 64-bit... I installed CCSv5 and initially installed the v3 drivers that were bundled with the kit.  I have since uninstalled the drivers, but now I have no way of running a diagnostic since that program was uninstalled with the drivers.  Where can I download the diagnostic program for the TMS320C6416T for Windows 7 64-bit?

      Thanks for your help!
