Did you create a new target configuration file after installation of CCS 5.2 or are you using a previously created file? If using an older one, please try re-creating one to see if that helps.

Here is a related thread with a similar error: http://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/t/202268.aspx

If the suggestions/tips in that thread do not help, please reply with additional details on when you see this error - is it when loading code, is it with certain projects only or all projects etc.

      Dear Rafael,

      thanks for support.

Changing the xmx from 384 to 1024 M in both eclipse.ini and ccstudio.ini do not help!

This is the error on shell:

      Dear Rafael,

a update to 5.2.1.00018 do not solve the problem.

We must switch back to 5.1.1.00033!

      5.1:

TMS320C66x_0: Trouble Reading PC Register: Error number -2133 Error address 1d
TMS320C66x_1: Trouble Reading PC Register: Error number -2133 Error address 66
TMS320C66x_2: Trouble Reading PC Register: Error number -2133 Error address 66
TMS320C66x_3: Trouble Reading PC Register: Error number -2133 Error address 66

      But it works!

      see: 170218.aspx

      5.2:

TMS320C66x_0: Can't Initialize Target CPU: Could not initialize the simulator driver. Check the Configuration File

Same here with Fedora17 + out-of-the-box CCS 5.2.1, even with a new TargetConfiguration I get:

      Can't Initialize Target CPU:
Could not initialize the simulator driver. Check the Configuration File

CCS 5.1 was already quite broken on Linux when it comes to the Simulators, sad that I can't get 5.2.1 to work at all :/

Using CCS in VirtualBox is very painful, I hope the Linux version will receive some bug-fixes in future to make it a viable alternative to its windows counterpart.

We try to use Ubuntu 12.04 (64Bit) but this results in a lot of problems with CCS.

So, at the moment we must switch back to Ubuntu 11.10 (64Bit) there are less problems.

Simulator is working with CCS 5.3.0 and Ubuntu 12.04.
