I am trying to install active perl and inline-java as per the steps mentioned in http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DSS_from_Perl.

But the link that the wiki shows for inline-java does not work and tried even other repositories to get the ppd package of inline-java.

Can anybody provide their inputs on how to install inline-java on windows machine either through perl package manger (activePerl version 5.10.*) or via compilation.

I have tried compiling the inline-java module using nmake on windows but no luck.

    It throws the following error

Can't find string terminator "}" anywhere before EOF at -e line 1.
    NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe' : return code '0xff'
    Stop.

Any instructions on how to install the inline-java would be really helpful.

    Thanks in advance,

    Murali.

If the command line install is failing, try running the ppm GUI.

Go to 'Edit->Preferences->Repositories' and add the path to the repository:

Then you should see the Inline-Java package available:

      Hi,

My problem is when i try to download using PPM manager it gave a message

Downloading ActiveState Package Repository packlist ... failed 500 Can't connect to ppm4.activestate.com:80 (Bad hostname)

when i tied to do the above mentioned step , there is a similar error message

Downloading UWIN packlist ... failed 500 Can't connect to cpan.uwinnipeg.ca:80 (Bad hostname)

I am not sure on what is the exact issue .

Do some one having some idea ?

      Thanks in advance

      sasi

      Hi sasi,

It could just be an issue of the server being down. You can try downloading the whole package manually and install it offline.

      Thanks

      ki
