I read the post "How to get old Code Generation Tool versions in CCSv5?".  However, this leads to a download web page with code size limited versions of older codegen tools.  How does one obtain the production licensed versions of older codegen tools?  I have tried using the update checker as well as enabling classic updater with no success.

      Hi Gerorge,

what tools are you looking for?  Is this the link you tried?  Note that ARM and MSP430 code generation tools are not available for download.

I am looking for C2000 CGT v5.2.11.  Here is the link I was referring to:

      Hi George,

Ok, C2000 tools in full should be available on the compiler release site I sent.  Please give that try and keep us informed.

You can install the tools under Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->Build->Code Generation Tools

      Best Regards,
      Lisa

      Hi Lisa,

One ends up at the same cgt download web site with the link that you sent.  The link that I used is a direct link to the cgt download web page.  The web page states that the downloadable version of the C2000 v5.2.11 CGT is code size limited to 32kB.  Is the code size limitation enforced by CCS based upon the license.  In other words, will the code size limitation be relaxed for licensed versions of CCS.

      Hi George,

this is absolutely correct.  Downloading cgt tools does not circumvent license requirements.  You can check what command line availability you may still have but you would still require a proper full license for unlimited use in CCS.  Or the XDS100 emulator which is free to use with CCS.

      I hope this helps clarify.

      Best Regards,

      Lisa
