      Hi Guys,

I am trying to debug an issue with the custome OMAPL137 board wherein I am trying to connect my XDS560USBBv2 STM emulator to the board. I am consistently seeing the following error message in CCSv4.2

      Error connecting to the target:
      (Error -183 @ 0x0)
The controller has detected a cable break far-from itself.
The user must connect the cable/pod to the target.
      (Release 5.0.333.0)

I tried the same thing on XDS510USB PLUS, but I get the following error message

      Error connecting to the target:
      Error 0x80000240/-2082
      Fatal Error during: Initialization, OCS,
Device driver: Emulation Connection Loss Detected on Target CPU.
It is recommended to RESET EMULATOR.  This will disconnect each
target from the emulator.  The targets should then be power cycled
or hard reset followed by an emureset and reconnect to each target.

Does anybody know the root cause that may be resulting in this error message.

      Appreciate your help on this.

      Regards,

      Rahul

      Rahul,

I would first go through the steps listed in the debugging page below; it contains a strategy on how to debug JTAG connectivity that is very useful.

      http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Debugging_JTAG_Connectivity_Problems

(the device drivers of the two emulators you are using are different, therefore they have different error message handling).

      Hope this helps,

      Rafael
