A related question, I've been trying the latest release (5.2.00069) on Ubuntu 12.04. Is this supposed to work with the Launchpad boards ? If not, is support planned in the future or should I go back to the command line tools ?
yes there are plans to support the launchpad in Linux, however support is unfortunately not currently available.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
eZ430 connections like on Launchpad are not supported on Linux today. Only the USB FET is supported. Support for eZ430 is planned but not until late in the year.
