    Hello,

This bug is presented per the post "PLEASE READ FIRST: Code Composer Studio Forum Usage Guidelines"

A: The problem: The debugger crashes easily and often.

1: We are using the latest version of CCS: 5.1.0.201206191800

2: We find some evidence in the forums of debugger crashes, but our situation renders the debugger pretty-much useless (so this seems unusual.)

    3. OS: Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pack 1

    4. CCS: 5.1.0.201206191800

    5. Emulator: SD XDS510 USB Plus Rev. B

    6. A simple way to reproduce this is to press suspend (pause icon) and Resume (play icon, F8) a few times, resulting in the following windows message: “ccsstudio.exe has stopped working”.  We can easily reproduce this in a screenshare-type session upon request.

    7. logs attached (not all of them, please ping if you need more info.

    8. ccxml and gel files attached.

History:  We have been using CCSV4 with relative success with exactly the same computer, emulator, and hardware.  We do not have this kind of problem with CCSV4.  CCSV5 was installed over CCSV4.  There are no obvious cross-ups with environment variables.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Steve

      Steve,

The log are missing from your post. Could you retry?  Any *.dmp files and a debug server log would be be most helpful.

An issue has been identified with the call stack code on C55x. The problem is being tracked by SDSCM00045061 and a fix will be generally available in CCSv5.3.  Anyone else running into this problem on C55xx with CCS v5.2.1 should contact TI for a resolution.
