CC5.5 doesn't install under Win 8.1 German Gui.

I tried several times to install CCS 5.5. It always failed at different stages. I tried the offline version. It to didn't work. Tried c:\ti or folders withing c:\programs. Nothing really help to complete the installation. However eclipse.exe and ccstudio.exe are installed. I can start ccstudio.exe. But the GUI looks incomplete.

Any idea what went wrong?

    Hi Andreas,

    From the logs it looks like you have an incomplete offline installer. For example, C:/Users/ajung_000/Downloads/CCS5.5.0.00077_win32/baserepo/msp430helprepo.zip seems to be missing. Can you verify?

    Hi Danish,

    the offline installation seems complete. The mentioned msp430helprepo.zip exists and can be extracted manually.

    Here is what I tried so far:

    I startet the installation first with the online installer. It gave some complaints about not being able to install an msp430xxx.msi or msu-package. I had tried twice the online installer. The 2nd time it had antivirus diasbled. Still no success.

    Then I downloaded the offline installer, extrated the zip flepackage and tried to install it. Again, no success.

    The interesting thing is, the installer seems to stop at different stages. After the 2nd offline install attempt at least the eclipse.exe and ccstudio.exe got installed.

    Is there a way to complete the installation manually? I don't really understand how the installation works as it is based on Java stuff.

    Andreas,

    Would you be amenable to trying CCS 6.0? It was released yesterday http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Category:Code_Composer_Studio_v6. If not, maybe we can do a webex so I can see what's going on? 

    Please make sure the anti-virus AND real-time scanning is off.

    Hello Danish, thanks for the hint regarding CCS6. I have just finished installing it. The installer went through well. (Firewall and Antivirus were off.)

    Right now, Eclipse installs/updates plugins.

    I will keep you posted how  I am getting on. So far it looks good.
