CCSv6 Java exception

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430WARE

Hi,

I just finished installing CCSv6 on Ubuntu 12.04-x64.  It started up initially OK, then after the installation additional components and restarting, it now consistently crashes.  I have attached the error log for reference.  This seems to be some kind of Java error.  I installed everything with all optional components.  If necessary I will uninstall and start over, but maybe I can just remove the offending piece?

  • Bruce, the crash may have something to do with the embedded browser. You might be able to get past this point if you start CCS with a new workspace and immediately close the welcome page. Could you try this and let us know if it helped?

  • Andy,

I tried to get to the welcome screen with a new workspace, but was not successful.

Next, I tried a complete re-install without any App Center Add-Ons this time.  I then checked for updates, then began adding the App Center Add-ons one at a time to try to figure out which one caused the issue.  I added them one at a time and restarted CCS each time in the following order.  GUI Composer, MSP430Ware, PRU, Linux Dev Tools, MSP430 GCC Beta.

Everything worked this time without errors.  I don't know what resolved my problem after re-installation, but I'm up and running with no issues.

I had the same issue as you. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling with just what I needed (single core, multicore and nothing else).
    It then worked fine.
