DM8168 EVM M3 video and CCS5.5

Hello

I have DM8168 EVM from (Spectrum Digital). I wanted to run a test encoder app on M3 video. I see two JTAG connections on the board. One with 20 pin and another with 14 pin(MSP430). Which one I should use?

For using only M3 Video+HDVICP, what are the steps required? Do I need to boot up the other cores using the SD card, before loading the firmware on M3 video?

Hi JK,

If you've a XDS100 emulator then 14-pin JTAG is the one. As it is a development kit, USB would do the trick; no need of JTAG.

I did not understand you fully. You mean to say that xds100v2 is not a jtag emulator?

Also I did not get answer to my second question.

Offcourse, its a JTAG emulator. your question was:

One with 20 pin and another with 14 pin(MSP430). Which one I should use?

My answer was, if you've a XDS100v2 emulator use it with a 14pin header. Else if you've a XDS560v2 then 20pin CTI JTAG cable.
