Problems with "Updating Software": Error reading signed contents

Hello,

I encountered a problem when trying to update my CCS 5.2.0.00069 installation by Help -> Check for Updates and selecting the "TI Emulators v5.1.507.1" package.

(Actually I want to update the "Blackhawk CCSv5.3 Emulation Update v5.3.0.342" package to use a Blackhawk  BH-USB-200 Emulator with CCS5.2, but this package seems to require the updated "TI Emulators" package)

The detailed error message is:

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
   session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
   Problems downloading artifact: org.eclipse.update.feature,com.ti.emulation.pack.win32,5.1.507.1.
      Error reading signed content:C:\Users\lbe\AppData\Local\Temp\signatureFile8885008395846302749.jar
An error occurred while processing the signatures for the file: C:\Users\lbe\AppData\Local\Temp\signatureFile8885008395846302749.jar

Has anyone any idea what to do?

Thanks in advance,

Lars

  • Hi Lars,

It looks like your anti-virus/real time file scanning is corrupting the files that eclipse is trying to download. Please turn off and try again.

  • Hi all

I have exactly the same problem, and I do not think it has anything to do with virus scanners. I am running into similar issues both on a Windows (7, 64 bit) and Linux (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, 64 bit)  installation of CCS v5.2. The unsigned contents update fine. Mostly what are not installing are the TI/Blackhawk/Spectrum Digital emulation updates. A screen shot of the error is attached.

A brief Google search seems to suggest that it is a known issue in Eclipse (certain versions), but I am no Eclipse expert and could not figure out any workarounds.

I am blocked on this issue. Someone please help if you can.

    Best regards

    Durga

  • Hello all,

I think I can confirm that it has nothing to do with any virus scanner etc.

Together with our sys admin I tried to update CCS by using a direct ADSL connection bypassing all fire wall etc. of our company and with all virus scanners etc. on my PC turned off. The result was exactly the same.

I'm still stuck at the same point - I can't update CCS and thus can't use my BlackHawk DSP emulator. :-(

    Best regards,

    Lars

  • Hi

Are we the just few 'privileged' ones encountering this issue or are others affected too? From a brief web search, this seems to be a generic problem in the underlying Eclipse framework. How come there are not many other people shouting and yelling?

And thanks to TI for either giving a totally irrelevant answer or no answer at all. Now I am completely stuck.

Just for your edification, here is a new screen shot of the error that I took just minutes back. As you can see, nothing has changed.

  • Hi All,
Did any body answer this question.
I have same problem when try to upgrade emulators in my CCSv5.2 old installation.
    Thanks
  • Hello all,

unfortunately I didn't find an explicit solution for this problem.

Meanwhile I've got a new PC with a new plain CCS v5.4 install so I got rid of this special issue. I just tried to update some other component ("TI compiler tools documentation"), this worked fine now.

    Regards,

    Lars

  • Hi Lars,

thanks very much for your prompt response.
