floating license issue

we are using CCSV6 floating license in one of the server and trying to use same license file for CCSV5 as per below post

but we are getting an error saying

FLEX net Licensing error: -59684

and also in CCS V6 we are getting licensing status as licensed and licensing type is free license but we purchased from TI , please clarify on this.

Are you using XDS100 emulator?

Hi Nandish,

Gautam gave sound advice. Please verify that you are not using a setup that gives the free license (ie xds100). I say this because if so

- then ccs automatically going to the free license is normal

- I suspect your license server is not setup properly in which case we need further information

Hi lisa,

thanks for suggestions and ccs v6 license issue is resolved but when i use same license for CCSV5 then i am getting errors please find the attached error screenshots

Which license type is previously setup in CCS v5?

Hi Nandish,

have verified your server is set up correctly? What do you mean v6 works? Are you sure you are using the server? Have you tried restarting the flexnet services?

Hi Lisa,

yes we verified the server and its working fine . earlier we were getting free license status in V6 and now its showing full license.yes we restarted multiple times but same error is coming when we use V6 licensee for V5.

some questions like..

to use V6 license do we need to install a copy of V5 in server also or we can directly use V6 license from server in client machines???

Hi Nandish,

odd. a v6 license should work normally in v5 and v4 as well The only things I can think of are

- did you change servers?

- are you sure v5 is correctly pointing to the license server?

If you are sure v6 and your server are fine these are some of the only things I can imagine.

how did you verify the server? Also, could it at all be possible all licenses are checked out?
