debugger initialization error in ccsv5. cann't find tixds55x.dvr

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C5515

Hello,

I use ccsv5 and TMS320C5515 DSP board. Until today it worked well but now I'm getting the following error:

Unable to load D:\it\ccsv5\ccs_base\emulation\drivers\tixds55x.dvr

I cann't remember changing something. What can be the reason and how can I fix it. Is it possible to download it and integrate in the corresponding file?

Thank you.

best regards

  • Hi,

Assuming the install path is correct (D:\ drive), can you see if the file is physically there? I have seen in the past that disk corruption causes the file to become inaccessible or simply broken, therefore CCS is unable to access or properly execute it.

This file changed very little over the years. The one I have here has a size of 262800 bytes.

To work around this issue you could either scan the disk for errors (perhaps the file can be recovered) or either install a newer release of the TI emulators package or reinstall using the instructions at the wiki page below:

    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/XDS_Emulation_Software_Package

To find out the TI Emulators package version you have, go to the menu Help --> About --> Installation details

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

  • Hello Rafael,

thanks for reply:) before I got your msg I thought that I try to reinstall simply CCS. It wasn't really easy to uninstall the other one. But now I can't install it correctly. In the  middle of installation occurs an Error which terminate the action and xds100 emulator is not installed. I try it on Monday again and refer to it.

    with best regards

  • Hi,

When you uninstall CCS, I usually recommend simply doing a Shift+Del on the install directory, as this is the most certain way to wipe out absolutely everything.

Details on additional directories you may want to erase are in item 2 of section 2 of the troubleshooting page:
