CCS V6 and License Server Interaction Problem

I am using CCS V6, with a CCS V5 license file. Everything seems to work just fine until I try to use a Spectrum Digital XDS-560V2 STM TRAVELER emulator. When that emulator is attempted to connect to the target system, the license daemon returns the following exception log:

15:51:48 (tidspssw) DENIED: "CCS_DEBUGGER" E720558@AZ75LT721DGS1 (License server system does not support this version of this feature. (-25,334:10053 ""))

Poking around the support forums yielded nothing helpful.

Further, Code Composer indicates a target connection, but the connection status is reported as:

Spectrum Digital XDS560V2 STM TRAVELER Emulator_0/C674X_0 (Disconnected: Unknown)

Any ideas on what I might look at?

CCSv6 license file is compatible with CCSv5 but not the other way round! I would like you to check the actual license being used by your CCSv6.

Hi Timothy,

Gautam is correct, ccsv6 is licensed separately and a v5 license will not work with v6. As stated however, a v6 license will work with previous versions as well.

I hope this explains. Note that if you have an active subscription, you will be able to upgrade to a v6 license.

I checked. The license I have is a CCS V5 license. I do have a maintenance agreement paid for with TI, so I'll have to get an updated license. I didn't see how to do that from the registration page. What is the procedure for transitioning the CCS V5 license to CCS V6?

Hi Timothy,

you can go to

www.ti.com/myregisteredsoftware

as directed. There should be your license listed, its status and a manage license. There may already be, in another tab there a 'get new license' button for you.
