I have installed Code composer studio V6. I would like to power characterize my algorithm using the energy trace. I am using MSP430FG4618 with a MSP-FET430UIF Debugger. My energy trace technology is not able to record the power and energy graphs. I would like to know if the problem is because of the Debugger. Does Energy trace technology support MSP-FET430UIF.

It would be helpful if you can resolve the issue.

Please do tell me the best board and debugger of MSP that will support Energy trace so that I can buy it.

Thanks for your reply.If I buy the MSP430FR5969 LaunchPad Evaluation Kit and the new MSP-FET will I be able to use all the features of energy trace (both energy trace and energy trace ++) for my algorithm.

Krishna, only the kit mentioned below is enough. No need for MSP-FET if you're using this kit.

I figured seeing as my problem is suitable under the same header, I should post it here.

Please do advise if you would prefer me creating a new thread.

I also have a problem with getting energy trace working

I have recently received the new black MSP-FET tool.

I am running it on the latest CCS6.

The target part is a MSP430FE4272.

When I enable standard EnergyTrace (current profile only), and start a debug session, I receive an error message, saying that there has been a "JTAG problem".

Upon resetting, and disabling energy trace, I can run standard debug as per normal.

I have confirmed that the target board has JTAG routed correctly.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
