Nope! The new MSP-FET is compatible.

Hi Gautham,
Thanks for your reply. If I buy the MSP430FR5969 LaunchPad Evaluation Kit and the new MSP-FET will I be able to use all the features of energy trace (both energy trace and energy trace ++) for my algorithm.

Krishna, only the kit mentioned below is enough. No need for MSP-FET if you're using this kit.

Hi
I figured seeing as my problem is suitable under the same header, I should post it here.
Please do advise if you would prefer me creating a new thread.
I also have a problem with getting energy trace working
I have recently received the new black MSP-FET tool.
I am running it on the latest CCS6.
The target part is a MSP430FE4272.
When I enable standard EnergyTrace (current profile only), and start a debug session, I receive an error message, saying that there has been a "JTAG problem".
Upon resetting, and disabling energy trace, I can run standard debug as per normal.
I have confirmed that the target board has JTAG routed correctly.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
Yes Gin, please create a new thread. You would get quick suggestions and it would be useful for others too.
