Intermittent Error Connecting to Logic PD OMAPL-138

I have been using CCSv6 and I can load my code onto the Logic PD ZOOM OMAPL-138 dev board. But sometimes all of a sudden I get the error

"

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -154 @ 0xFFFFFF66)
One of the FTDI driver functions used to
write data returned bad status or an error.
(Emulation package 5.1.507.0)

"

I have used different usb cables so I don't think it is that. I have tried to power cycle the board and closing and re-opening CCS. I keep getting the error until I restart my computer.

Sometimes this happens quickly and sometimes it goes a while without error.

I am on Xubuntu 14.04 and using CCSv6.

I am using the XDS100v1 USB emulator as that is the only one that works with this board.

I am using this for a class so any help would be very appreciated!

Thank you
