Problem while connecting ezdsp TMS320F28335 with CCS 6

Hi Sibin,

Check whether the drivers are installed properly. Also, check the voltage levels on the board and compare them with the available schematics.

Windows is detecting USB connection and I can view SD USB based tools in device manager. Does it guarantee that the drivers are installed? or how else I can check whether the drivers are installed?.

Great! Then there doesn't seem to be any issue with the drivers. Check the sch I sent to you and revert with your observations.

Hi,
I checked the voltage level of TP1 and TP2 in board. At TP1 it is zero and at TP2 it is 1.8v. I guess this is right. Should I check voltage level at some other point also.

Thanks for the inputs, Sibin. Try changing the data cable once. Also, install CCS Uniflash with SD drivers, we'll check with that too.

Hi Gautham,

I installed Uniflash and tried to connect the board I created new target configuration with ezdspF28335 as board and spectrum board usb emulator as connection. When I pressed ok it is showing the following text.

Loaded target configuration from: C:\Users\sibin\AppData\Local\TEXASI~1\CCS\ti\4\0/temptargetconfiguration.ccxml.

Then I tried to do frequency test, then it is showing the same error.

FATAL >> C28xx: Error connecting to the target: Error 0x80000200/-1135 Fatal Error during: OCS, Unrecoverable emulation error.

Can you try running the SDConfigEx utility to test you JTAG connection?

The utility comes with the SD drivers installation as part of the CCS installation.

I contacted spectrum digital and they mentioned me that SDConfigEx utility doesnot support onboard usb emulator in ezdsp.

You installation looks fine. There just looks like there is some JTAG connectivity issue.

Hi Sibin,
Thanks for the log. The engineers have analyzed it. Unfortunately we don't have a answer for your issue as the error is coming from the emulation driver and everything looks fine in the debugger. Since the driver is from Spectrum Digital, I suggest you contact their support for more help. Sorry
