Uniflash for AM335x

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi all,

I am trying to use uniflash on a beagleboneblack board. Unfortunately, my progress is still at "0 %" ... My driver Linux/RDNIS, my ethernet connection is UP, configured but nothing started. I have a directory set in the GUI where I have (order by generation date) :

u-boot-restore.img (with am335x_evm_restore_flash_usbspl patch applied)

u-boot.spi-restore.bin (with am335x_evm_restore_flash_usbspl patch applied)

debrick.scr (generated from debrick.txt with good values from arch/arm/omap-2/board-am335x_evm.c)

uImage (build with support of initram - set to sitara_flasher)

ubi.img (generated from mtd-utils/ubinize)

flash_cat_util.out (generated by flash_cat_util.out)

flash-image-data (generated by flash_cat_util.out)

Do you know where my problem could be ? I check everything and I am really lost ... That's seems easy in UserGuide but ...

Thanks in advance ...

Mickael

  • Mickael,

Did you set up the static ip for your connection? You will need to set it up two times as when the uboot gets onto the device, it takes an new entity and needs to be setup again.

Could you also take a screenshot of the issue?

Lastly, go into this folder and delete everything. Then reproduce the issue again, and send us the log.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your quick answer ! Please find the logs and screenshots of what happens.

I set the adress of the USB-network before start uniflash. I click on start flashing, nothing happened, I restart the beaglebone and progress start/stop at 0 %.

  • You need to set the static IP again during the flash for the first time. If you follow the guide closely, you will see that. The first time you set the IP is for the ROM code on the device, the 2nd time is for the program loader code on the device.
  • I never see the second detection of network interface.
  • Keep "Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections" open and note the change in your network adapter interface on the USB connection.
Following the guide processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Sitara_Uniflash_Quick_Start_Guide, on the USB section, bullet 28 onwards.
  • I saw in processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Sitara_Linux_AM335x_Flash_Programming_Linux_Development " Modify your boot command to boot from a network using either USB or Ethernet",
I took u-boot from TIAndroid-SDK branch, I think this is not done in this version ?
  • That could very well be your problem. After loading the SPL over it suppose to restart the device as a new entity and thus you have to set static IP for it again.
You should either follow the guide, or consult with the Sitara team in their forum regarding what works off the shelf directly. I can only assist you regarding the UniFlash tool itself as I am not an expert in the device side.
  • HI,

Thank you for your support I will close this post when I will reach my objectif only.

  • Hi, It's ok now with good MLO and good u-boot.

    Thanks
