Can not install TI-RTOS tivac_2_10_01_38 into CCSv6

I downloaded tirtos_tivac_setupwin32_2_10_01_38.exe, executed it and got this package installed in my hard disk in C:\ti folder.

But when I try to install it into CCSv6 using Products ( Preferences/Code Composer Studio/RTSC/Products ), using Search Now button, this version doesn't appear in the options, so I can't select it to register into CCSv6.

Could someone guide me on how to get it installed ( tirtos tivac 2.10.01.38 ), please?

Thanks

  • In CCSv6, the recommended way to install TI-RTOS is through the CCS App Center (menu View->CCS App Center). When installed this way, it will be installed within the CCSv6 directory and will be automatically detected. However, a stand-alone install as you have done should also work.

Do you have CCS also installed to c:\ti?
What does your Product discovery path (under Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->RTSC->Products) look like? Could you attach a screenshot?

  • Hi AartiG

Yes, my CCSv6 is installed in C:\ti folder.

If I try to use App Center, the TIRTOS for TivaC appears as UPDATED. The fact is, I tried several times to install and in Help->Installed Software, it appears 3 times, as shown in screenshot below:

Perhaps this is the reason why in App Center it is UPDATED.

If so, how  can I delete this version ( 2_10_01_38 ) in this configuration file to allow a new installation?

    Thanks

    Sergio

  • Sergio,

Sorry about the delayed reply. Not sure if you have already got past this issue, but if you have not, here is something to try:

    1) I see that you have also an older version of TI-RTOS for TivaC installed in addition to 2.10.01.38. I would suggest first trying to remove that older version and see if CCS then correctly detects the newer version. From Help->Installed Software, select version 2.0.1.23 and click on Uninstall. Then check if the newer TI-RTOS is detected after restart.

    2) If it is still not detected I would suggest going through the same process to uninstall 2.10.01.38 also. Note that clicking on Uninstall from Installed Software does not actually physically uninstall the product, it just makes CCS unaware of it. After the next restart CCS should hopefully detect and pick up the new TI-RTOS.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi AartiG

    Yes, this issue is cleared.

I did a new installation of CCS V6.1 from the ground and problem solved.

    Thanks a lot.

  • I also have faced the similar issue, but I just before solved it according to what you guided. Uninstalled them and then install again. Detection is OK. Through this, I can install TI CCS environments and simplelink SDK in a different and separate folders. I can make it easier to manage the source and else in terms of source version control point of view.
