CCS V6 and JTAG Emulators

We are going to be updating the tools for maintaining our products with 28F12, and I have two questions which I hope are simple.

1. Has the USB JTAG interface changed between CCS5 & CCS6?  3rd party JTAGs like Spectrum Digital and others say they are compatible with CCV5 but don't mention CCS6.  Will they work with CCS6?

2. Can CCS6 program the 28F12 flash with the TMDSEMU100V2U-14T low cost JTAG, or is it for debugging only?

    Hi Jack,

    The answer to both your questions is YES. CCS v6 very well supports the above emulator and device. Also, if you just want to try the same before migrating... you can install CCS v6 while you've CCS v5 installed already. Here's how you can do it.. simply refer this thread:
