CCS icons on HD monitor

I have a 3200 x 1800 (Wide Quad Extended Graphics Array Plus or WQXGA+) display and am running Windows 8.1, the icons used with code composer 6.1 are impossibly small.  Is there any way to adjust this?  Most other things in Windows seem to handle the display reasonably well.

  • And while you're at it... when CCS (5.5, 6.0 and 6.1) is pinned to the task bar (Win7) and started from there, the icon is duplicated instead of changing state (see below where e.g. Word and Outlook are both pinned and started, so their icons change to that state).

    Tsk, tsk... not very professional...

    (sorry for hijacking the thread...)

CCS does not add icons to the task bar, so you probably have done it yourself by pinning a shortcut instead of the application. This well known behaviour is described in this article.

  • Ahh... I stand corrected... I'm the one who is not very professional :-)

Back to the original poster's problem.
  • (to the OP)

Unfortunately the icons inside a CCS session are part of the open source components of Eclipse and the last time I checked there was no work being done by the project maintainers to change that.

    I apologize for the inconvenience,

  • Did you think that I did not search Google before I resorted to asking the people I paid to fix the problem? This is a totally outdated link that appears on Google solely because people click on it and don't put the effort into looking further down the list for a better answer; it is wrong.

There are things called "Manifest Files" which are used by Eclipse to configure such things which, as an embedded systems engineer, are beyond my present set of skills to implement. However, I would assume that someone in the Code Composer organization knows something about Eclipse and could prepare such a file (or set of files) to be distributed when a customer needs them.

The ANSWER is that TI does not care enough to provide service for the product they sell.

Most people don't. Besides, I did not send you the link to offend you (the infamous LMGTFY), but simply as a reference for a well known issue in Eclipse and modifications that could potentially be done by the user.

I beg to differ; one year old link that talks about Eclipse Kepler (the version used until 6.1 came out two monts ago) and Windows 8.1.

The proposed fix is a "hack" to the standard Eclipse distribution. We have done similar things in the past (i.e. with CCSv4.x) and got burned as it broke compatibility with a number of other plugins available on the marketplace and caused burden with a large number of customers. In this case, we nowadays prefer to align with the open source community to avoid that.

We do care. Please see previous answer.

All in all, I filed the enhancement request number SDSCM00051840. Please check its status in my link SDOWP below.

    I apologize for the inconvenience,
