Installation problem, GCC broken

I (as usual) clicked install when I got the message that updates were available.  I wasn't thinking, and still had a 2nd instance of CCS running at the time, and the installation finished with errors.  Upon restart, I no longer can even select the MSGCC 4.6.3 GNU compiler, and existing projects that used it now attempt to build with the Red Hat 4.9.1 compiler, but fail with the error message:

"Errors occurred during the build.

Errors running builder 'CDT Builder' on project 'EnergiaDevices'.
java.lang.NullPointerException"

In the CCS App Center, it shows the GNU compiler installed and up to date.

I assumed I'd just garbled my install of CCS 6.1, so I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it.  However, the problems did not go away.

How can I repair my install?  I submitted the install logs and it gave me a reference number of #10162.

  • Greg,
I dont know this error but from experience of errors persisting through uninstall with CCS try the following:

When you uninstalled did you remove the workspace directory?
If you're on windows OS, did you remove the C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Texas Instruments/CCS/ directory after uninstall?

If not, first try simply cleaning your workspace (www.youtube.com/watch).
If that does not work, try switching to a completely new workspace.
If that still brings no joy, try uninstalling again, but before re-installing, remove any traces of CCS left behind... most locations to check are listed here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Troubleshooting_CCSv6
