CCSv6 Unable to install Add-on: Installing Add-on Message box Lockup

Problem Statement: The Code Composer Studio 6.1.0 App Center, Install Software, causes Code Composer Studio to lockup with the message box "Installing Add-on" and message "Operation in progress...".

Step to produce the problem:

1. Launch code composer studio

2. Select my workspace

3. Once workspace appears, select the CCS App Center Tab. The siaply shows a list of Code Composer Studio Add-ons

4. I select a single item in the list, For example, "TI-RTOS for MSP43x"

5. Click Install software

6. The dreaded "Installing Add-on" message box appears

(From this moment on CCS is hosed up & the only option is to use Windows task manager or the Texas Instruments monitor in the windows quick launch/task bar. I've waited for over 2 hours and nothing happens. No progress indicators--nothing!!!).

 

What I've tried to correct the problem:

I performed a code composer studio update & not updates were found

Change proxy settings to native and restarted code composer

Changes proxy settings back to manual and restarted code composer

I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice,..

I've rebooted the PC

Verified proxy settings are correct because the update works and the App center refreshes the content at startup.

Tested internet connection using other applications (internet explorer, etc)

PC configuration is WIndows 7, 64 bit
