Code Composer Studio Cloud can't stay logged in

I really like the Code Composer Studio Cloud.  But lately I keep getting kicked off.  Sometimes when I try to login first, I get the message

Request Entity Too Large

The requested resource
/myti/docs/gatekeeper.tsp
does not allow request data with GET requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.

After trying a few more times, I am able to get to my workspace, but then after a minute or so, it kicks me off, with the message

Session Terminated.  Your IDE session has expired.,,,

Then I get the message:

Logout Notification!

You have been automatically logged out.  Your session cannot exceed 8 hours.

I have not been able to conduct a productive session in a few days, I really miss it, very frustrating.

Please let me know if there is a solution for this.

Best Regards

  • Hi,

There is issue with the SAML login. The size of your browser cookies are too large for it to handle, which generate the 'Request Entity Too Large' message. Try cleaning your browser cookie and see if it help.

    Patrick
  • Thanks Patrick,

I cleaned the cookies, and that fixed the one problem.  But when I login and pull up CCS Studio Cloud, after about 30 seconds I still get the message

    Logout notification!

You have been automatically logged out.
Your login session cannot exceed eight hours

It kicks me out and I when I try again, the same thing happens.

Any ideas to overcome this would be appreciated.

    Best Regards

    John

  • Hi John,

We do see that you are getting kick out from our log files and we are trying to investigate this issue.

Can you perform the login from the main portal page and not using the IDE, see if you get kickout after 30 sec or not? We like to narrow down the issue by excluding the IDE and see whether the issue is the authentication system itself or not.

    Patrick
  • Patrick,
Yes, when I log into the portal, without attempting to enter the IDE, it still logs me out with the same message about session cannot exceed 8 hours. So it appears to be a problem keeping me logged in rather than due to the CCS Cloud IDE. Thank you for your attention, I hope we can work this out.
    Best Regards,
    John
  • Hello John,

Would you be able to try dev.ti.com now? Please close your browser before trying and let us know whether you can log in. Chrome has a setting where closing all visible windows does not fully shut down the process, if  "Continue running background apps when google chrome is closed" option is checked. If it is, then you can fully exit be right clicking on chrome icon and selecting exit. That icon should be in windows system tray (bottom right corner of windows desktop).

    Thanks,
    Martin

  • Hi Martin,
I have logged in and it seems to be staying up. First I right clicked on the Chrome icon in my system tray and selected Close Window (did not see 'Exit' as a selection). Then should I always close out Chrome that way, or should I look for the setting 'Continue running background apps when google chrome is closed' and uncheck it?
It is refreshing to see my CCS Cloud again, thanks very much. If the problem occurs again may I get back with you?
    Again, thank you
    -John
  • Hi John,
You do not need to always close Chrome this way and it is up to you whether you keep that option enabled or not. We are making some adjustments in next update that should not require restarting Chrome.
Absolutely please contact us again (myself, Patrick or Dobrin) if you run into this issue again. Thank you for alerting us to this problem and your patience!

  • I have this problem all the time and not only with CCSC.

This happens when my session times out (or I try to access the same page from another computer) and I am on a page that requires authentication.

  • I am now experiencing this same problem.  Occasionally I get the "request entity..." error, but mostly when I open/log into CCS cloud, the IDE appears momentarily,  then I get a message saying "session terminated...".   This loops repeatedly and I can't seem to stop it.  I've done everything suggested in this thread, including unchecking the "run processes in the background when closed" box in chrome, clearing all cache and cookies, rebooting, etc.  CCS cloud has worked well for me for several weeks, but now all of a sudden it is completely unusable.  I have some project code in the cloud at the very least I'd like to get downloaded to continue developing locally.  Is there anyone on the TI side that can give more of an explanation why this is happening?I was just getting to the point of thinking to myself that this cloud based development approach might actually work out, then this happens.  Please help.

  • I was able to download the project code locked away in the cloud by very quickly (in the ~5 sec window) right click and download the project folders. I had to do this once for each project since 5 seconds isn't quite enough time to download more than one project before "session terminated..."
What a joy! I'll go with my original instinct and avoid the cloud tools like the plague from now on.
  • I had this problem too. Deleting cookies helped.

  • Is there a way you could get this fixed on the server end?  This is the second time this has happened to me, and it only happens with the TI site.  Having to look it up and fix it it my cookies is an annoyance that seems unnecessary.

    Thanks,

    Rob
