CCSV6 - emulators update, now breakpoints.. don't!

Argh! Just let CCS V6 update "TI Emulators" and now breakpoints don't break, and yes optimization is off.

Any idea how this could have happened?

Which device and JTAG debugger are you using? I may try to reproduce this here.

TI MSP430F5638, an the Olimex Tiny JTAG V2. It worked fine this morning.. argh..

Thanks. That is very odd, as the "TI Emulators" component has nothing to do with MSP430 devices.

In any case I will try to reproduce this here.

By the way, what are the details of your install? Do you have other device families installed (C2000, Tiva, etc.), versions of CCS and OS? Type of MSP debugger: the newer black version or the older white one?

Just C2000 as one of our other projects uses it for vehicle detection. Other than that, it's a stock CCS V6 install.

I cannot reproduce this issue; I am running CCSv6.1.0.00104 and just updated from TI Emulators component from 5.1.641.0 to 6.0.14.0. Unfortunately I do not have the same device/JTAG debugger as you, thus I am using a 100-pin MSP target board with a F5438A and tested both MSP-FET debugger versions.

In this case I can't precisely tell what may have happened. Perhaps you could try the troubleshooting options at the sections General IDE and Debugger sections of the page below.

Hmmph. Well, I'm in mid-project and I can print out via USB, so for now that'll have to do. Once things calm down, I'll deinstall and re-install and see if that fixes it.
