How to use CCS for new C6000 Project?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMDSDSK6713, TMS320C6727, TMS320C6701

I have CCS  Version: 6.1.0.00104

When I click on New Project, the dialogue box asks for the Target.  The target is a C6000 family DSP, but this option (or any C6xxx) is not available in the drop down list.

What should I do?

Much Thanks,

G

  • Hello
If you do not see any C6x target in the drop down list, then you must not have installed device support for C6x. What exact device are you working with?

    Thanks

  • Using the C6701 or C6727. Do I need to purchase C6x support? If I get the TMDSDSK6713 dev kit, will that have CCS C6x support?

Looking at a CCS 6.1.0.00104 installation for which all support for all device families was installed shows support for the TMS320C6701, TMS320C6727 and TMS320C6713 processors.

If your CCS installation isn't showing support for any C6xxx devices, this probably means that during the CCS installation the C6xxx product families were not selected to be installed.

If you re-run the CCS installer and point to the existing installation directory, on the Processor Support dialogue if you tick the "C6000 Single-core Device Support" and "TI C6000 Compiler" options that should add support for C67xx devices:
