Hi All,

I'm working with CCS 6.1.0 for a few months now and I have some questions about it:

- although it's recomended to install the update to 6.1.1 from within CCS 6.1.0 (Check for Updates), my installations doesn't upgrade to 6.1.1...

- After working with CCS for a while, I get the impression that the IDE is short on memory : some toolbars automagicaly disappear, solved programming errors stay in the "Problems" view although the compilation was succesfull etc. I *think* this is a java setting, but I have no idea where or what to change to give the IDE more memory (I'm working on Win10, coreI7 with 16GB RAM)

the marked toolbar disapears..

Any tips are welcome.

You can increase the maximum heap size by changing the Xmx value in <CCSv6 INSTALL DIR>\ccsv6\eclipse\ccstudio.ini

It may help, though I'm not so sure it will address the issues you are seeing. If the heap is running low, CCS usually warns you about it.

Hi ki,

When I change the Xmx setting from "-Xmx512m" to "-Xmx1024m" I get a message on top of the CCS splash screen about "Failed to create Java Virtual Machine"... Are there other settings (on the machine in general) that influence the memory available to Java ?

This may be related to the known bug reported in this thread. Basically, switching from CCS Edit to CCS Debug perspective and then back to CCS Edit makes the Editor Navigate buttons (such as last edit location, back, forward) disappear. They only come back when CCS is restarted. The bug is scheduled to be fixed for the next release CCS 6.2.
