Can't find Installer for Spectrum Digital emulator support on CCS5.5

I'm running code composer on Debian Jessie 64-bit and until now have been using the C2000 experimenter kit on CCS5.5. Now I am moving to custom hardware and want tor use the XDS510USB device to program, but in the CCS5.5 install options there is no option to install spectrum digital emulators, and only the ti versions of the drivers are in install directory and I cannot at the XDS510 device in a config file.

I can not find/do not have the sd_emupack_setup* file.

From the CCS5.5 installer I can only select TI emulators

I have no $(drivers)/sdjtag script

I managed to install the spectrum digital emulators on a CCS6.0 install, however I have no license for CCS6 which is required for using the XDS510. However with that install I can use the sdjtag script to find the emulator etc.

I have been following "Emulation Tech Note 11 Validating Spectrum Digital Emulation Drivers on Linux" but as mentioned before I am missing everything it talks about for the CCSv5 install. Everything I have read mentions that the emulators should be installed with the standard install from CCS5 onward.

How can I get support for the spectrum digital devices?

  • Hi Tony,

    Check this post: e2e.ti.com/.../842206

    and Follow: linux-c6x.org/wiki/index.php/Setting_up_CCS_v5

  • Hi Gautam

The other post does seem to show a similar problem but on Windows. However it is not answered and does not offer a solution.

The link "linux-c6x.org/wiki/index.php/Setting_up_CCS_v5" Only deals with the udev rules once the emulator drivers are installed. The problem is the emulators are not installed on CCSv5 and so I don't get to the point where I would have a problem with the rules. Secondly as mentioned I managed to get them to install on CCSv6 with the udev rules working correctly so that is also not a problem.

All renewal licenses are revoked - what this means is that you don't need to purchase a license to use CCSv6 anymore if you have a CCSv5.5. In fact, if you install CCSv6.1.1 you can use your CCSv5 license with it - check here.

All that said, I am not sure why you are unable to get Spectrum Digital support in your CCSv5.5, but if you can use v6.1.1 that would be preferrable.

    Hope this helps,
