I'm using CCS 6.1.1 with all the updates installed.

What's going wrong? Thank you for your help!

  • Olivier,

I am not seeing this. I know we had some compatibility issues with Energia 16 but that was build related. This looks like an issue with our plugins.

I will ask around to see if anyone has a solution.

    Regards,
    John
  • Did you update 6.1.0 to 6.1.1? It looks like as part of the update those plug-ins got corrupted. My 6.1.1 install is fine but I didn't update to it. I just updated one of my 6.1.0 installs to see if it is a consistent problem, but Energia import worked fine there as well.

The quickest solution would be to reinstall CCS. That is a pain but it will resolve the issue. However before you do that could you send me the install logs from <install dir>\ccsv6\install_logs There should be one for the 6.1.1 update there should also be a <install dir>\ccsv6\install_logs_xxxx that was created on the day the update was done. If you could zip up those logs and attach them we will look through them to see if there is any sign of the problem.

    Regards,
    John
  • Yesterday and today, I've spent 6 hours for re-installing CCS for Windows, and updating through Help > Check for updates.

With a fresh installation of CCS, Energia is back!

The RTOS for Tiva C installation fails. Where to find the error log file?

  • Good news on Energia. There are install logs in <install dir>/ccsv6/install_logs and there will also be a <install dir>/ccsv6/install_logs_xxxx where xxx is a date. There is also a workspace log which may have clues for us to look at <workspace dir>/.metadata/.log

    Sorry for all the trouble!
  • Forget about grabbing the logs. I found a CCS install where I don't TI-RTOS for Tiva installed. I can see the error. No need for you to dig up logs. I can do it and get it to the team.

Seems to be specific to the Tiva version. MSP430 is fine.

    Regards,
    John
  • The solution consists on

    • avoiding the update from CCS 6.1 to 6.1.1,
    • instead, installing CCS 6.1.1 directly.

Did you update 6.1.0 to 6.1.1? It looks like as part of the update those plug-ins got corrupted.

This solved my problem for CCS 6.1.1 and Energia 16 on Windows 8.1.

  • RTOS for C2000 seems to face the same issue.
  • C2000 was ok for me. Tiva should be good now.

I will try C2000 from some other installs.

  • After the installation of RTOS for LM4F/TM4C, RTOS for C2000 went fine.
