CCS v4.1 Linux beta: no MSP430?

Hi!

I just downloaded setup_CCS_4.1.0.02006.tar.gz from http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Beta_Releases_CCS. According to this page, it should have support for MSP430. However, when I run the installer it shows me all kind of processor architectures, except MSP430. Is support for MSP430 not included? Do I need a different installer?

The CCSv4.1 LInux beta only supports:

C64x+ CPU Cycle Accurate Simulator
C64xx CPU Cycle Accurate Simulator
C674x CPU Cycle Accurate Simulator
C6416 Device Cycle Accurate Simulator
C6745 Device Cycle Accurate Simulator
C6745 Device Functional Simulator
C6747 Device Cycle Accurate Simulator
C6747 Device Functional Simulator
DA830 Device Cycle Accurate Simulator
DA830 Device Functional Simulator
TCI6484 Device Cycle Accurate Simulator

It does not support MSP430

So there is no Linux version of Code Composer that supports MSP430 (not even a beta version)? Will there be one in the (near) future? If not, I'll probably need to find a decent alternative.

MSP430 would likely not be until the end of the year.

Are the codegen tools available for MSP430 for Linux hosts?

Lorna,

We do have a linux version of the MSP430 compiler. It is not something that is broadly available but more provided to customers on an as needed basis (if they have a CCS win license).
