Critical issues with CCS after windows critical update

Good day again!

JFYI, I made some investigation and found that issues, reported here and here, appeared after 7th, may, when the critical Windows update was installed. The rollback to windows restoration point was unsuccessful, and also Java update is not working anymore.

  • Hi,

I see from your other posts that you are suspicious that Java is causing the problems you are having. However, since CCS uses its own JVM to protect from compatibility issues with untested JVMs present on a user's system, I suspect that somehow this is being overridden by an environment variable such as JAVA_HOME or XDCTOOLS_JAVA_HOME (a subcomponent of CCS).

Some workarounds to the first issue are mentioned in the thread below:
    www.eclipse.org/.../

The second issue is discussed in the thread below:
    e2e.ti.com/.../510357

    Hope this helps,
    Rafael
  • Thanks.
But the problem was resolved by reinstalling Windows, which malfuction caused a problem in ALL JVM's.
  • Hi,

Wow... I haven't heard such radical solution for a problem and I am sorry to hear that you had to go through a huge amount of effort to solve it, but thank you for sharing the solution to this problem. This may help other developers in the future.

    Thank you,
    Rafael
